THEATRE ROYAL.

Fullers' EntertaiHers.

First appearances at the Theatre Royal' this week are Mr James Opie, who possesses an excellent baritone voice, and whose songs "We're the Same Old Pals To-day" and "I Was a Stranger and They Took Me In," stamp "him as an actor-vocalist of no mean order ; Jack Willis is a Scotch humorist, who can't be called dry, as his funnyisms deal with Rye and other exhilarating subjects that fill bottles. He's a quaint character, though, and has gone big, and is a first favorite ; Fraril Melvin and Vi Frawley are a sketch couple, with nothing particularly new m their business ; Miss Lavinia Tyson, a contralto, has been singing illustrated ballads and her songs are being 'hummed all about the town, which fact speaks of the lady's success ; The Harmonious Hux'hams are what their name denotes, their part singing being ' a treat. Those old favorites, Mr F. Graham and Miss Dent, sad to relate, have entered on their last nights, and "Truth" -wishes to recoixHts appreciation of the coster sketch "Me and 'Er." It's a bright little one-act comedy, and as far as the Coster \and Costeress business is concerned, is •ahead of anything staged An New Zealand for a long time. Vaude and Varna, a peculiar pair with a penchant for phun, still rattle off their -quaint catches and that hiaby-kissing episode shouldn't be told m Sunday . School. The Seyffer Twins, Rexeo and Ifesseo-, the Biograph completes a very large programtme, which will, be greatly improved on this and the .evenings to come. . \ ' • ■
