They -clobber up so fine an' large, You'd think they'd won a Cup. They're never. short of art a quid, ' They 're- always on The Block, . And Hone of 'em, as I can see. Has ever "took the knock." The dimings on these fellers' 'ands, All flash as they go past, And yet the neddies wot they run Are always runnin'.last. They ' eat and drink the very best, And plenty otit i too, They spbrjti gold watches on tlieir chest; Wpt -you a'hi! "me can't do. . . TJiey're always fresiv as bloonvin' paint No care is on : their : mind, And yet their .prads, as I 'aye said, They always run behind. Now tell me, Mister Norton, please, How all qf this is done, ' . Ai«;d if you can't explain 'it, sir, I'll pass you on the bun. I always thought,' so help me Bob, That' losin'". owners lost, And that the only one as won Must, own the winnin' .'orse. ' But now I. see. I'm, m the wrong, For them as always lose : , ■ Have more than them who wins, the, ■ race, "./.'. . '. ■ Y/X To spend on feed an' booze. , It can't be- that .they run their nags, ' What silly folks call "byes," •' ' For if they did, them stooard blokes Would give 'em a surprise. '- ■ But still it stands- out plain as day That these blokes get the stuff, .. And if you'll only tell me where, . Well, that'll bo enough. I say agen, I always thought, . i That only one man won, . ~ > .■■ But men wot never win a race, - . ; They 'je toffs, sir, every one. ■
