?A stranger who visited Wellington V.M.C.A. rooms recently found eight knife holes m his bike tires when' he went to resume his journey. "Yoilthful Mugs Cowardly Association." Rumors are rife m Christchurch re the incompetence of the Fire Brigade at the recent lire. A. reputable citizen avers that several firemen were so much under the influence of purge or something else, that they were incapable of directing the hose m the proper direction, thus nullifying the good work others were doing. If this is so, an inquiry should be held m , the interests of the putilic as well as I the. Fire Brigade itself.
