SAILORS' REST. The concert given at the Rest to the sailors m port on Monday night was attended by a crowded audience, who most thoroughly enjoyed the long and varied programme. Items were given by the following : Mesdames G. Anderson (who also played the accompaniments), Kelly and Reynolds, Misses Geary (dance recitations, and songs, and Anderson (piano), Messrs McComish," Kerr (comics), Anderson and Webb (clarionet solos'), and H. As the last hymn was being sung m St. Mark's, Wellington, on Sunday night, the lights suddenly ceased to shine and left the startled congregation m a state of darkness. Nervous maidens shrieked hysterically, and we regret to learn that advantage was taken of their excitement by rude men. At any rate sundry matches struck revealed more than one case of indecorum. It is not known if the girls are indignant.
