The indecent remarks and alleged verse written up m the public conveniences wouldn't be so brutally unpleasant if they were original, but the same inane witticisms which pandered to the unclean mind fifty years ago still serve to weary the casual user of the w.c.'s. It is probable that some of the horrible jokes did duty, m PharOah's time and have come down to us stale with the staleness of centuries. If someone iwere to write something absolutely I new on the wall its obscenity might Ibe pardoned and appreciated.
