THEATRE ROYAL.

Fullers' Entertainers. A. little bit of "extry" has been giv,l»n at the Royal this week m the shape of moving pictures. A reference to the programme shows that the v said bit of "extry" is a jaunt to Ho--1 orua. It is necessary to refer to tine programme to ascertain this, as the films, Government films, it must foe stated, might indicate that it is a carnival on the Styx. Surely Ben Fuller hasn't turned tourist agent. ;'■ if •Rotorua is to be thus boomed, a detent film ought to be secured, and if Jtbis is a sample of the way the Government touts for tourists, samefoody's bumps qyght to be felt or somebody should be kicked and supplied with ■ a- decent camera. 'With the exception that these pictures ought to t» dwtoy** ifißUblie interests, %

nightly festival at" the Royal is calculated to make Wellington theatregoers wish everybody a happy New "Year. Every turn on the big programme is clever and clean and ■ the j palm certainly goes to Stewart and j Lorraine for their musical perform- I ance. The Aluminium Organ is the sweetest thing that ever was, and the pity of it all is that the turn 'is .so short. Tom Armstrong and Priscilia Verne, with their tragedy, "200 ■Wives," puzzle lots of people with their impossible Yankeeisms,, and, anyhow, what is a skin game ? Why doesn't Tom Armstrong sing and dance more than he does V Priscilla, j of course, doesn't dance, but as an actress she simply beats the band — and Bernhardt. Madame Blanche Carelli, an Auckland soprano, is a decided acquisition to the circuit, and her rendition of "Carissima," and "The Swallows," has been nightly warmly applauded. The Stagpooles are as funny as ever and have established themselves great favorites. The Marlowe Sisters, Gertie McLeod, the two Vernes and Lesseo and Rexo, ! a pair of clever comedy jugglers, and some decent Biograph pictures (not Rotorua) all contribute to a lengthy programme,' which, subject to sever- J al changes, will be presented this and subsequent evenings. It's a big bill that is 'being put on, and biz during the week ought to eclipse previous records.
