•^Children photographed free for oub competition" rims an advt. over the mark "Tosca." Sharp practice amounting to swindling is resorted to by this shadow-catcher. Modus operandi is as follows. Mother •! finest-looking kid m town trots ger offspring to "Tosca,» who. after entering name etc, shoots the kid with camera and instructs thepreud person pertaining to pretty pet to interview the person' downstairs about proofs. Said person dowastairs says call m two days' time. Ttfne arrives. Ladyhelp trots the kid along calling for proofs. Woman person m oharg« of proofs demands two hob as a deposit on proofs which was duly handed over. Mother of marvellous mannikin casts caustio eye on proofs, and unrecognises her bouncing beauty; sends proofs "back and demands the two bob deposit,, which is peremptorily refused with the remark" that "deposits are never returned, "but that a dozen phbtoa wiill be supplied for 17 6d and credit for 2s allowed. Stormy interview^ between infants mother and "Tosca" tottie, but the 2s deposit is still with "Tosca." Rather interesting to know how many more 2s victims this, "Tosca" turn-Out/has tumbled across. It is quite the latest incpnfidence tricks and take-downs. Some °f *he genuine snap-shotters should' take a hand m this and prove that 2s depdsit is not held on supplying proofs with an indefinite period of its return. - f
