When Robert Gilkes, Wellington butcher, visited Petone recently to punish a woman-spoiling scoundrel, Wellington , "Evening Post" . and the "Hutt and Petone Chronicle" published highly-colored descriptions of the incident reflecting seriously on Gilkes, and Mr McGrath, on behalf of Gilkes, has written to the newspaper proprietors asking them to name solicitors for the defence m actions for defamation. Both publications are now climbing down with undignified celerity.
