NOXIOUS NEVILLE.

A DOUBLE-DYED SCOUNDREL Gets His Deserts at Waihi. "Truth" last week made mention of one Claude Charles Neville, who for failing to comply with an order for the maintenance of his wife and child, was sentenced by a Waihi Bench to six months' imprisonment. Further mention was also made of the fact that Claud C. had for a similar offence served another six months stretch, and this led "Truth" to infer that CO. was a passive resister of the long-suffering sort. Now, however, it transpires that this Neville is a scoundrel of the worst possible type, and the "Waihi Daily Telegraph," referring to the case, says :— The history of Claude Charles Neville, as relatingespecially to Waihi, is a most startling one and discloses the heartless treatment to which his family has been subjected. Neville deserted his wife and children some years ago, and since then one of his children, who had been m delicate health', had died. « Neville went South, and later on actually GOT MARRIED TO A SOUTHERN GIRL. At the time of his arrest, which followed, his second v wife died, and her Mriends and relatives, and also his friends m that particular locality, were utterly dumbfounded when they found out that Neville had been living a dual life. It was recognised as a great mercy that the innocent i and unfortunate wife had died before] becoming acquainted with her hus- j band's cruelty to his legal wife, j Neville was brought to Waihi, und , charged with wife desertion. He was sentenced by Mr Bush to six months' imprisonment, and was discharged about December of last vfav. Now Ihe is serving a second sentence ef | six months' imprisonment. '
