She jnver had time for dolls. At eight she played Beethoven's sonatas and all the principal works of Mozart, Haydni.. and Handel, and at ten she was singing m public, en tour with her elder sister. At fourteen she was leading soprano m the Cathedral of Albany, and at eighteen she made har debut m opera and took the musical world by : storm.. But she never had a doll.
