An incident occurred m the Magistrate's Court m Napier recently, which showed how careful a lawyer should be m offering documents for the consideration of a Court. A wellknown solicitor tendered what purported to be a written agreement m evidence. Tire clork of the Court promptly impounded it because the paper was not stamped, and 'before the case could be gone on with, the solicitor's client had to dub up Is for stamp and£s as the minimum ' fmc. Poor old client. ! ;
