"Send m the bill," was the reply, tendered with much emphasis. The gent was then informed that it wasn't the custom to tender bills to clients, nor did they send a collector round to be put off until next pay day; nor did they give discount for cash—in fact it was a case of j>ay or quod. Then the defendant condescended to ask for time, and he gat it, otherwise there would have been time to do..
