A new play, a new company, principals bearing star reputations, the play 'described as the "Silver King" of America, where for twelve years it has lieen performed by numerous companies continuously, are the ingredients of Mr Edwin (reach's latest dramatic venture, which eventuates to-night for a season of seven nights, for the first time m Australasia. The authar of "Human Hearts," Mr Hal Reid, is an American, and one of the foremost authors of that country. This gentleman has •discovered the happy medium of writing plays which find their "sweetness m strength and their strength m sweetness." The keynote of his work is not merely to produce the reflex of human nature, but the very nature itself, ■bound up m true types of the environment m which he concentrates his story. "Huznan Hearts" is said to 'he sucih a play— throbbing, pulsating nature is the , leeyniots of the edifice, and the structure is built of all the flotsam and jetsam which makes for human, lives. Embracing many incidents and situations which are said to fob exciting to an eminent degree, embellished with) genuine comedy and natural scenes, it should afford immense scope for the fine company engaged fey Mr Geach. Mr Ernest Leicester, the eminent English heroic actor, sustains the lead, supported by Messrs G. R. Mont-ford, A. Lawton, C. M. Berkeley, Duedas Walker, G- McKenzie, E. Vallange, Oswald Ford, C. Fleming, and Me-s---dames E. <xiiildford Quin, Aggie Grey, May Hesfor-d, little Alma Palmer, and Miss Valentine Sidney, a new lead'tog lady from England. The play is produced by arrangement with Mr J. C. Williamson.
