humbug gospel-grinding Stanton is, and the " Truth reporter thought it best to refrain from asking the question he had m his mind, namely, " How many prayers, each half-an-hour m length, did Stanton consider necessary to remove a cancer of twelvemonths' growth?" The only question really worth debating is mi n which department Stanton is the biggest humbug, at cancer-curing or soul-saving ? Perhaps if this poser were put to him Stanton would evade it by dragging m the cause of the 'Frisco earthquake or Mimro's management of .the Exhibition, or something equally distant from the point at issue
