AUCKLAND.

(From Our Own Correspondent)

The Northern Boxing Association has about as much vigor and vim (to say nothing of brains) m its composition as the average aged 'bus horse. It doesn't think it would be a good cop to fix up a match between Hock Keys and Jimmy Ross ! Why? Because the miserable put-up business recently between Cripps and Batchelor was such a ghastly sohleinter. The N.B.A. hasn't cot brains enough to differentiate between two good, tried lads and a couple of nondescript pugs who drifted m and did the sports brown m the Northern city. And these are the people who seek- to govern the sport by means of Parlimentary support. Ye Gods ! Secretary Keenan, of the Northern Boxing Association, must have been snoozing when he informed Wellington Secretary Billy Coffey that Hock Keys didn't arrive from America on the Sierra. Hock was there,, genial and gentlemanly as ever, and he asked his old friend Mr Tom Martin to do what he could to make his (Hock's) projected return visit to New Zealand a, success. Hock wants to meet the winner of the projected Turner— Tracy fi°ht at Christchurch. This should be a fine snip for Mr Coffey 's Association if they can fix it up. Keys also expressed his willingness to meet Jimmy Ross at Auckland.
