Ten seconds later the devout young lad snatched the bottle and drained it of the evil spirit within, then got out at the next station and rushed into a pub for more of the awful poison. The train puffed off without him and the wicked publican at length carried the. yelling youth to his room m the throes of an hilariuos attack of "d.t.'s." "DuriW the night," groaned dismal Mac "fcha? bright young lad fell out of a window and was impaled on a palisading I" What a dismal fairy tale to fire off on to an audience in. a thirsty, sun-scorching Sheol of a place like Broken Hill! A yarn like" thft is enough to make a man rush away to bnrv his nose^in the longest pint of cool, frothy i beer m the township. J
