WHAT IS PLATONIC?

• ,1 I am eager to know just how far you may go In the matter of guileless affection - For although you may smile there is nothing like guile In my views m this special connection" But I want to be sure that the* motive is purf When a gent takes a stroll with a lady 'Oa the darkest of night», when the absence of lights . Might suggest that the business is "shady." I am certain of this, there's no harm m a kiss, , ( Osculation with some folk is chronic ;■ It is capital -sport, and it's love of a sort, ; But the question is— ls it Platonic ? ■^ow, as everyone knows, love destroys ail repose /' .y When, the principal actors are wll'ne ;• And while lying m bed, to a tryst overhead ■ . I can hear them ail. making a bee-lin.e. They exchange tender vows by the aid of "Mi-ows," ' . And the noise that they make is appalling ; " I have long ago found there is no weirder* sound Than an amorous cat's caterwauling. They tell the old tale m monotonous wail, And m tones that are scarcely liar- \ monic ; •'-,.! It is capital fun, when it's not overdone, But the question is— ls it Platonic?
