"TRUTH'S" TROUBLES.
A HYMN THE CROWN OBJECT .TO; ; ■J; f Criminal Proceedings Instituted; In "Truth" of August 18 lasi was published, under the heading of "Hymns Up-to-date," a set of verses entitled "Hushed was the Evening Hymn." Exception has been taken to them by the police with the result that on Friday week, at the Magistrate's Court, "one of" "Truth's" employees was charged with having ! sold printed matter, that is, a newspaper known as "New Zealand Truth," which m part was of an indeCent and immoral nature. , I Mr M. Myers appeared to prosecute and Mr. A. Dunn for the defence. The latter asked for an adjournment I for a week. Mr Myers offered no objection and the case was accordingly, adjourned.
