A TRAMGUARD'S LIFE.
Apropos the discussion on the manners and customs of the genus tramguard, the "Gimcrack Club" . man^ had the following m last issue lof hand of Sydney "Truth" : It's a jolly line life is the tramguard's life, "And one we all admire ! With a nice little home and a nica little wife— What more could man desire. ? r . With three or four kids to keep, well* say, On a screw of six-and-six a day. And several casual fines to pay— • And then be called a LIAR ! ; What man would dare aspire To anything much higher ? It's a lovely job '" * When an ill-bred snob, Who is only one of a blethering mob*
With the snarl of a dog And the manners of a hog, Exclaims : "You are a liar !" There is nothing so fine as the traraguard's life,
With a nice little home and a nice little wife ! * It's a heautiful life is the tram guard's life — You'll find if you enquire— \?ith pimps^and spies arid touting nl\ To watch you earn your hire >! And though the pay is somewhat low And seems but little inclined- to grow; It's most delightful, as you know, When told you are "a LIAR ! Par better be called a liar Than plain John Smith, Esquire ! It's grand, begob, When a pompous snob
