JURYMEN SEEK EXEMPTION “What are the lines you re* present?” queried his Honour Mr Justice Alpers in the Supreme Court yesterday when a man, who styled himself a manufacturers* agent, applied for' exemption from serving on the jury. “Chiefly confectionery/* was the tame reply. “I think that this community eats far too much of that commodity/* said his Honour in promptly refusing the applica* .tino. Another juryman, in tendering his excuse fop non-service, handed in a note from his employer, which represented him as being indispensable. “None of us is indispensable/* observed his Honour in refusing to accede to the request.
