HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE DAIRY PRODUCE IMPROVED The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated December 4th, from tho High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — BUTTER. Market firm. Official quotations (with last week's prices in parentheses) are:— New Zealand. —Finest salted, 160 s. to 166 s per cwt, Is 5d to Is s|d per lb (146 s to 1545). Other qualities; 150 sto 156 s per cwt, Is 4d to Is 4sd per lb. New Zealand Control Board official minimum prices are:—Finest, 166 s per cwt, Is svd per lb; first grade, 164 s per cwt, Is 5Jd per lb. Australian.—Salted, 160 s to 162 s per cwt, Is 5d to Is ssd per lb (144 s to 150 s); unsalted, 162 s to 164 s per cwt, Is 54d to Is s£d per lb (156 s to 160 s); exceptional, 166 s per cwt, Is s£d per lb. Other qualities: 130 s to 156 s per cwt, Is ljd to Is 4id per lb. Canadian.—l‘s6s to 158 s per cwt, Is 4Jd to Is per lb. Other qualities: 146 s per cwt, Is Sid per lb. Siberian. —146 s to 150 s per cwt. Is 3|d to Is 4d per lb (132 s to 1365). Argentine.—Unsalted, 144 s to 150 s per cwt. Is 3Jd to Is 4d per lb (138 s to 1445). Other qualities: 130 sto 142 s per cwt, Is Ifd to Is 3d per lb. Danish.—lß2s per cwt, Is 74d per lb (170 b to 1725). CHEESE. Market firm. Official quotations are: English.—Finest farmers, 106 s to 110 s per cwt, llid to ll|d per lb (102 sto 108 s). Canadian.—Finest, coloured and white, 92s to 96s per cwt, 9Jd to 10Hd per lb (86s 'to 88s); exceptional, 98s per cwt, 10id per lb, in accordance with make. New Zealand.—Coloured and white, 93s to 94s per cwt, Dfd to 10Jd per lb (84s to 85s). Control Board minimum prices: Finest, 94s per cwt, lOd per lb; first grade, 93s per cwt, per lb. Australian.—9os to 92s per cwt, 9sd to 9|d per lb. Estimated stocks of cheese at December Ist in London, Liverpool and Bristol: Canadian and American, 213,400 boxes; New Zealand and Australian, 13,650 crates, against 209,700 and 950 at same time last year. H OTHER PRODUCE Tallow.—No auction this week and market very quiet. Prices are practically unchanged. Hemp—Manila market quiet and easier during this week, but firmer at the close. *‘J" grade, October-December shipments, sold -847 10s and Noveir.berJanuary shipments', up to £4B. Sisal market dull, but steady, at last quotation. New Zealand market steady for lower qualities. . Fair November-Janu-ary shipments sold at <£36, with further sellers at £36 10s. Common quoted St buyers £BS. Highpoints not in demand, quoted sellers <£BB IQs. Wool.—Sales continue with active demand and tendency upward for crossbred. Beans.—Market quiet at about last quotations. English pressed for sale £lO 10s, down to £lO 2s 6d per ton. Cocksfoot.—Danish market firm and December-January shipments ' quoted at 735. Smaller crop and yield reported. Expected prices will advance. Oats.—English in plentiful supply and offered mote freely. Choice white quoted 28s 6d to 295, ordinary down to 245. Plate, Deceffiber-January shipments sold 20e 6d, and January-February shipments offered at 20s, nominal value. New Zealand, "A" grade Cartons, DecemberJanuary shipments, quoted 28s.
