The Electric light sports meeting to bo held on the Busin Reserve on Wednesday, December Bth, at 7.45 p.m,, will be remarkablo as being the first occasion on which such a meeting has been held in Wellington. - Although other centres —notably Christchurch—have been conducting very successful meetings of this kind for soino time past, Wellington sO far has lagged behind in this direction. The Wellington Centro of the N.Z.A.A.A. is now, however, making up for lost time, and has bebn successful in having an excellent lighting system installed. Enormous flood lights will ensure that every part of tlio ground will be easily seen by the spectators. A full programme of events will bo got off, including running and field events, ladies' raoes and cycling events. In view of the appearance in New Zealand of the famous Australian cyclist. "Fatty" Lamb, early in the New Year, the local cyclists are making strenuous efforts to get fit to do battle with him, and the cycling races, therefore, will alone be well -worth a visit to hfce Basin. One of the principal races will be the 440 yards cycle scratch race, which will be decided in heats, three men in each heat Among the riders in this race will be Flett; Bright, Scarfe, Carswell, Gane, and P.
