DARING ESCAPE

DASH FROM MT. EDEN GAOL CRIMINAL AT LARGE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 6. Samuel Arthur Pudney, aged 35 years, an habitual criminal, who is serving two years, daringly escaped from Mount Eden gaol at 7.30 o’clock last night. He made an excuse to visit the quarry, and seizing a favourable opportunity jdashed through an open gate in the lace of the pursuing warders, but he got away under cover of darkness, and despite a vigilant search he is still at large!
