PLUCKY YOUNtjl WOMAN RESCUE FROM DROWNING FAILS. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 6. At the inquest on Henry Stephen Baker, the well-known cricketer, drowned at Tomahawk Beach on November 7th, the coroner commended) the efforts of the deceasedi’s six companions, who acted bravely and carried on their efforts at rescue until the limits of exhaustion. He commended particularly the courage of a young woman, Sheila Neilson. An unpleasant feature was the fact that some of the bystanders did not give much assistance, -whilst the girl stood up to her shoulders in the water holding the rope for three men at its other end. He returned a verdict of accidentally drowned.
