ENOUGH FOR PROTECTION
BRITISH STRENGTH IN CHINA. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. LONDON, December 3. “We possess a very able Comman-der-in-Cliiet in China,” declared the First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr IV. G. Bridgeman, in a speech at Bromley. “He cabled that lie had sufficient strength available to protect life, which was all that was required of him. That is true, in my opinion, but we replied, ‘lf you consider your forces insufficient, we will do our best to send you reinforcements.’ ”
