WELLINGTON MEETING VISITING HORSES ARRIVE RECORD GATHERING EXPECTED In preparation for the 'Wellington Trotting Club's meeting on Wednesday and Saturday of this week, the first of the visitors to make their appearance in Wellington arrived yesterday morning, when horses came from north and south. W. J. Tomkinson's team landed in good condition. It comprises Pete Peter, Holly Boy, Whakaku and Amazon. Native Queen and Waitaki Girl also put in an appearance in charge of their owner-trainer, Mr Aker. It. S. Mills brought Prince Pointer, Kotuku Jack, Festive Morn, Goldfinch, and his Novice Handicap candidate, Cornelean. M. B. Edwards ' brought Great Elect and Black Admiral. The latter looks to be in great heart. D. Rodgers, with the cup candidate, Bing Bpy, also arrived in good condition. “ S. Roe arrived from the north with Hohora and Ro&mer, which is a four-year-old black .colt by Advance—Wilde ]Bell, engaged in the Novice Handicap. * It is expected that a number of the visitors will be worked out .on the track, this morning, and from now on the Hutt Park should bear a very busy appearance. It only requires fine weather for the club to have a record opening day on Wednesday.
