TURNING TO LEAGUE
SEVEN WELSH RUGBY CLUBS GROUNDS NOW" 'ENGAGED. (Sydney "Sun'* Cable.) LONDON, December 3. Seven Welsh Rugby Union club® are likely to turn professional, and form a Welsh League affiliated to the Northern Union. “This will be inaugurated in the autumn (says tho “Daily News.”) Although the names are not yet disclosed, grounds are already engaged. The New Zealanders in their international match against Wales on December 4th are expected greatly to assist the Northern Union’s propaganda for the development of tho 1 League game. ‘•The visitors Pave sho\?n such a remarkable improvement, since peace was proclaimed in • their camp that they have an excellent chance of winning the match. “Tlie Rugby League’s ‘hush-hush’ policy regarding the views expressed in official Australian and New Zealand letters concerning the two years’ qualification rule is distinctly regrettable. Whatever tho Dominions think, the League clubs will press tor the removal of the ban. Wigan has already called a general meeting of the clubs to discuss the matter.”
