FOOTPATHS HOLD 10 TO ONE “The footpaths in Wakefield street* are in damnable condition," declared Councillor Glover " emphatically at last meeting of the City Council. “That it naughty language,” mildly reproved the Mayor (Mr C. .J. B. Norwood). Councillor Glover considered that even were it naughty language, ;it .was Expressfvb. Councillor G. A. Troup said Wellington was the city worst off in Zealand for footpaths. Ten people were using the footpaths where, one person used the roads. Councillor F. W. Manton considered that Wellington, far from . having the worst footpaths in New Zealand, had the best. Councillor Troup knew this to be a fact.
