“BREAKING-UP”
END OF THE SCHOOL YEARIn a little more than a fortnight school bags and books will be thrown away into some dark corner, and for seven glorious weeks the troubles of the juveniles will vanish and those of mother begin, when the schools close down for the Christjmas holidays, to re-open on February Ist. All the primary schools in the Wellington education district, which embraces Marlborough, will close on Friday, December 17th, and already the year’s work is drawing to a close. Examinations have been finished, or are just concluding, but this is the time of the year that children like, when there is usually little strenuous work, and preparations aa'o being made for the “hreak-up.” * The school children are not the only ones who look forward to the vacation, which is just as eagerly awaited by the staff, and, may be, they have more need for it.
