The Rev. J. Hobbs, vicar of Christ Church, Wanganui East, lias retired after 50 years’ service, 20 years of which he spent in Hastings. With a view to improving the efficiency of the Wadestown tram service, it was agreed at last night's meeting of tho City Council that an additional loop should bo constructed in the tramline at Pitt street. Regal Gardens, off Queen’# drive, are to he taken over by Che council as a public street.
