SEWERAGE AND FOOTPATHS
SUBURBAN EXTENSIONS APPROVED BY CITY COUNCIL. Matters appertaining to sewerage and footpath extensions in the suburban areas were discussed at last night’s meeting of the City Council, when it was decided on the recommendation of the works committee;— (1) That the public sewer be extended to the Railway Reserve at Kaiwarra and certain houses in Sar street at an estimated cost of £340, the Railway Department agreeing to contribute £IOO towards the cost of the work; (2) that the work of extending the footpath and the stormwater drains at Rongotai terrace, at an estimated cost of £309, be put in hand as soon as possible; (3) that authority be granted for the construction of a footpath at North terrace at an estimated cast of £100; (4) that a footpath be constructed, at the corner of Grass and WilkinNorth terrace at an estimated oast of £3O, provided sufficient land is dedicated to the council free of cost.
