SPORTS MEETING ARRANGED
UNDER ELECTRIC LIGHT CYCLING CHAMPION TO APPEAR. Arrangements have now been completed by the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association for an electric light sports meeting at the Basin Reserve on December Bth, commencing at 7.45 p.m. An excellent Erogramme is being prepared, and a and will be present. At Hawera and Christchurch electric light sports meetings have been very popular. Eight flood lights will be used at the Basin Reserve, two on the stand side and three at either end of the ground. Tests hare been carried out. and it is said that the ground is well illuminated by the eight lights. It is anticipated that R. W. Lamb, the noted Australian cyclist, who i 6 being brought to New Zealand* will make his first appearance at thie meeting. Lamb has a great record, and in competition with the Wellington wheelmen some fine riding should be seen. Wellington’s leading athletes will be taking part, and the programme will be sufficiently varied to make it most attractive to ail.
