WATERSIDERS’ STRIKE
OTHER UNIONS ANNOYED SEAMEN MAY FORFEIT MONEY. Uv Telegraph.— r’rcsa Assn.—Copyright. (Received December 2, 1.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 1. A meeting o£ the marine transport group of the unions considered the serious position that has arisen throughout the Commonwealth as the result of the “no overtime” strike by the watersiders. The action of the watersiders was the subject of a bitter argument. The seamen stated that they would have to forfeit a large sum of money, which they had given to the Industrial Commissioner as a guarantee that they would not participate in a strike, when the Commissioner granted registration to their union. The meeting was adjourned until Monday next, when the whole matter will be referred to the Federal Disputes Committee.
