NEW MADAME TUSSAUD’S
making of fresh models THE “CHAMBER OF HORRORS.” Five members of the famous Tussaud family have lately been busily engaged in making new wax models for exhibition when the new Madame Tussaud’s is opened to the public about a year hence. They are: Mr John T. Tussaud, great-grandson of. the founder of the exhibition, and one of the directors of the new company which has been formed to take over the project, Mr Bernard Tussaud (his son), and-his three sisters. Miss Jane Tussaud (Mrs Remy), Miss Dora Tussaud, and Miss Beatrice Tussaud. “All the models that were destroyed by the fire are going to be reinstated,” Mr John Tussaud stated, in a recent interview. “Fortunately, we still nOßsess the models from which they were made, so that exact impressions are still obtainable. Every endeavour will be made to reinstate the old exhibition, so as to maintain its original characteristics and to carry on its traditions. “The. entrance to the exhibition will be through the centre of the new building, and there will be still on view the wonderful marble staircase known to so many visitors. “A novel feature of the new premises will be that the Chamber of Horrors, instead of being op a level with the street, will be underground.” The work of rebuilding is to be begun at once.
