EXCEEDED FIFTY THOUSAND MR AMERY GIVES FIGURES. Australian and N.Z Cable Association. (Received November 29, 7.48 p.m.) lA)NDON, November 29. In the House of Commons. Mr Leopold Amery, Secretary of State for the Dominions, in replying to a question, said from January Ist to September 30th there were 52,750 emigrants under the Empire Settlement Act. of whom 5500 families, comprising 20.643 individuals, went to Australia or New Zealand.
