McKNIGHT DEFEATS JAMITO PURDY TO MEET TROWERN. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, November 30. In a professional boxing contest over ten rounds last night. Nelson McKnight gained a verdict on points over Salvino Jamito. It was a fast contest, but cleaner hitting by McKnight gave him his second victory over the Filipino. PALMERSTON N., November 30. The Manawatu Boxing Association has matched Purdy and Trowern for a fifteen rounds contest on tho evening of Boxing Day for a stake of £l5O. As Les Murray’s claim to the lightweight title expires on December 2nd the association is taking the necessary steps *to have the contest carry the championship.
