IMPUDENT ROGUE
SWINDLED HIS CREDITORS REMITTED MONEY TO GREECE RESTAURANT-KEEPER’S BANKRUPTCY Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, November 30. “He seems to have been deliberately swindling his creditors by sending money to his father in Greece. A rogue like that doesn’t deserve any consideration, at all, and an impudent roguo at that.” The m 3 were the remarks of Mr Justice Sim in respect of Constantine Soumaras, «• bankrupt restaurantkeeper. Soumaras, who had applied for a discharge from bankruptcy at a previous sitting of the court, appeared on this occasion in connection with the application, made under section 62 of the Bankruptcy Act, for an order for payment of money towards the discharge of his debts. The bankrupt-, in a statement, claimed that pressure by certain creditors had caused the restaurant businesses to be sold at a loss. The bankrupt’s total debts amounted to £llOO, and tho judge ordered him to pay £1 a week to the Official Assignee until he had paid a sum sufficient to satisfy all preferential claims and pay a dividend of os in the £ to ordinary creditors. The application for discharge was adjourned until Soumaras complied with the order.
