SALE OF WORK
A saie- of work in aid of the funds of tho Alethodist Church at Berliampore was held in St. Thomas s Hall, Newtown, yesterday afternoon. and was opened by the Mayoress, Airs Norwood. She was presented with a pretty bouquet by Aliss Isabel Patience. Mrs Keene, president of the Work Guild, and tho Rev. Air Stewards received Mrs Norwood, the latter introduced her, and the Alayoress expressed the heartiest good wishes for the success of tb© sale. The stalls were well stocked; the work stall especially having a quantity nf useful and pretty garments. Those in charge were: Flowers, Mrs Chisholm and Miss Moncnotf; fancy goods, Alesdames Rees,. Sautis, Gloed: bocks, Mr Hunter; plain work, Mrs Bolt, Mrs Tomlin, Mrs Stowards, Mrs Conway; sweets, Mrs Hunter, Miss Bad, Miss Bolt, and Miss Holland : Christmas tree. Miss Scott and Miss Stowards; tea, Mrs Keene, Mrs Bailov Mrs Mawsc<n; cakes. Mrs Whitelaw, Mrs Risby, Mrs Sadler; produce, Mr Scott and young Men’s Bible Clasp; small goods, Mrs Scott, Mrs Moncrieff, Mrs Booth; ice-cream, Mrs Duncan and Miss Beak. The sal© is to be continued to-day.
