The weather was fine and the wicket good. The visitors’ bowling was not troublesome, but their alert fielding saved many runs. O’Connor scored fast at first, but for a time after luncheon the scoring slowed down. Then O’Connor collared the bowling again. He never seemed troubled, and Queensland’s total mounted rapidly, the century being reached in 125 minutes.
