RELICS OF THE IRON AGE

A party of American archaeologists a.re desirous <>t visiting Scotland to engage in digging operations, and among the sites which they wish to excavate is one on the top of Craigloekhart Hill, near the western boundary ol hdinhiirgh. On the hill there exist, a remarkably well-preserved settlement which is believed to date hack to the Iron Age. When an anti-aireral t hattciv took up position on tho west peak of the hill, in the course of the reeent war, a stone parapet and the interior of a stone dwelling were laid bare. A Ifoya! Scots officer interested in antiquarian research, realised the possibilities of tho stone work, and came to the conclusion that there had been a row of dwellings. Fragments of pottery and armlets were found, but although the find was reported and the ground searched bv experts, no excavation work has been carried out yet.
