DROWNED IN HARBOUR
INQUEST ON MR CONWAY An inquest concerning tho death' of Cornelius Conway, an elderly man, who was found drowned in tho harbour near the Eastbourne Ferry Wharf on Thursday morning, was held beforo the coroner, Mr W. G. Riddell, fe\M., yesterday. Evidence was given that the deceased was a single man, about 68 or 70 years of age, living alone at 14. May street. Ho had no relatives in New Zealand, and until recently had been employed on sewerage work by the City Council. Early on Thursday morning he was seen walking along the ferry wharf, and about three hours later he was found drowned. Conway was very shortsighted; in fact, almost blind. The coroner returned a verdict that the deceased was found drowned in Wellington liarbpur on November 25th, there being no evidence to show how ho got into the water.
