In the Sheffield Shield, New South Wales in their second innings made 475 (Steele 130, Kippax 131, Jackson 86). Queensland had scored five runs without loss when stumps were drawn. The weather was fin© and warm, and the wicket good. The batting of Steele and Kippax was most spectacular, but the score mounted steadily, dspite frequent changes in the bowliug. Shortly after lunch Steele was dismissed. Ho played a superb innings. A little later Kippax was out. His innings was marred by two chances, one in the twenties, the other in the eighties. The scoring then became painfully slow, until Jackson commenced to hit out, and scored freely.
