On the second day of the Sheffield Shield match, Queensland, in their first innings scored 356 (Higgins 36, R. Oxenham 57, Thompson 134). Morgan took tnree wickets for 85, Campbell six for 118. New South Wales, in their second innings, have lost two wickets for 157 (Phillips 32, Steele, in, 67, Kippax in, 53). The weather was fine and the wicket good. Thompson played a brilliant and flawless innings, and his score included 16 fours. In partnership with R. Oxenham he treated the spectators to a most forceful and productive display of interesting batting. Campbell’s bowling was high-class, and kept most of the batsmen strictly on the defensive. New South Wales, in their first innings, scored 280.
