Helene was recently sentenced to imprisonment for 18 months for forgeries and frauds involving £BOOO sterling and extending over ten years. It is stated that Helene never wore a gown more than three times, and she was considered the best-dressed woman in Geneva. She had refused many offers of marriage from wealthy men.
