VAN EYK REVIVAL MISSION
The Pentecostal Hall, 29, Vivian street, has for the past fortnight been the scene «f a revival campaign carried on by the South African evangelist, Mr F. B. Van Eyk. Great interest has been maintained, many fine meetings are reported; quite a number of remarkable cures by divine healings have been testified to; others have confessed to new personal belief in Jesus as their Bord, and generally there has been a spiritual quickening among those Christians attending.
To-morrow evening will be the commencing night of the Second Advent week. The second visible coming of Christ to this earth for His Church has long been held as its great hope. Individual believers also, from the times of the early Apostles, Have claimed this as the great consummation of their faith. Of latter years there have arisen some preachers who have decried this. This. Mr Van.Eyk claims, is one of the signs of the imminent return of the. Saviour, a growing apostasy among some of those who are professedly His followers. The evangelist refutes their teaching. The Bible, be says, is emphatic on the coming of Jesus, and it is his mission during the coming week to show the reality of the Christian’s hope and to show by Scriptural prophecies how near is this great and long-looked-for event.
