PERSONAL AND GENERAL (From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTERTON, November 26. The now building of St. Matthew’s Collegiate School for girls was officially opened yesterday afternoon by tho Bishop of Wellington, there ltcing a large attendance of parents and friends. Mr J. McArley, senr.. of Masterton, is seriously ill in tho Dannevirko Hospital. At tho motor-cycle sports at Otaki, T. Morgan, of Greytown, won the sixmile handicap, and was third in the eight-mile handicap. At a meeting of the Wairarapa Employers* Association last evening, Air Allan moved that a small committee be set up to deni with the question of closing on holidays and special days. This was seconded hy Mr Brennan, and carried. Trio following were appointed: Messrs J. Caselberg, H. P. Hugo. D. Ogilvy, J. Bradbury. J. Ninnes, with the following to act with other retailers in the towns outside of Masterton: Martinhorough. Mr •T. W. Kershaw: Fcatherstoii. Mr .T. G. McKenzie: Grevtown, Mr W. H. Day: Carterton. Mr A. J. Parton: Eketahunn, Mr A. H. Herbert. Unnecessary scare was caused hv a report in a local paper concerning a cummorc'inl traveller who was alleged to be missing.
