FIGHTING FOR SEATS
VICTORIAN STATE PARTIES GOVERNMENT WINS DIVISION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright MELBOURNE, November 26. The Victorian State Assembly, amid scenes of great excitement, agreed to a fresh redivision of electoral boundaries, on the casting vote of the Speaker. Members of the Labour Opposition, chagrined at the prospect of a Ministerial victory, completely discarded the digtaity traditionally associated with Parliamentary procedure, and made grossly insulting remarks to Ministers and the Speaker. There has been much dicussion in the Victorian Assembly over the electoral boundaries issues. Last week the Ministry was defeated by 33 votes to 30 on the Government’s proposals for redivision of the State into electoral districts on the lines of the Boundary Commission’s report. The Premier (Mr J. Allan) announced that the Ministry would not resign, ns it had made up its mind to pass a Redistribution Bill. Tlie proposals would be referred back to the commission. On that occasion the House adjourned in disorder.
