FAMILY WIPED OUT
TAKEN FROM BURNING HOUSE BULLET WOUNDS IN HEADS OF ALL TRAGEDY UNEXPLAINED By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, November 25. As a result of fire in a cottage at Tenterfield at an early hour this morning, Constable Milton and his wife and three children were burned to death. The flames secured a strong hold before it was realised that the unfortunate family were in danger. NEIGHBOURS HEARD A SHOT (Received November 25, 8.55 p.m.) The post-mortem examination of the victims of fire revealed bullet wounds in the heads of all five. The theory now is that Milton shot his wife and children, 6et fire to the house, and then shot himself. The neighbours state that they heard a sound like a shot about midnight, but a niece'of Milton, who was sleeping on the verandah, and who gave the alarm of fire, states that she heard nothing unusual until the fire broke out. Other testimony shows that Milton lived very happily with his wife and family, to whom he was extremely attached.
