AUCKLAND WOOL SALE
SPIRITED COMPETITION VALUES H~AVE UPWARD TENDENCY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 25. The first wool sale of the season in Auckland opened to-night before a large bench of buyers, representing all the wool consuming countries. Competition was keen throughout. The offering this year opened up Tighter in condition than tn the previous season. As the various lots were offered competition was spirited. and general. Notwithstanding the adverse reports from the London sales, which opened on November 23rd. prices to-night were decidedly firmer than at previous sales in the Dominion this season. Pieces and bellies showed a considerable advance on the Wanganui sales, owing to the quality suiting French buyers. A complete rango of prices is at present unavailable, ns the sale will continue till midnight, but the sale is progressing well, with an unward tendency in values. The wool is being well distributed. Bradford and Continental buyers being strongly in the market.
