WELLINGTON HOSPITAL

SECRETARY LEAVING APPOINTED TO NEWCASTLE BOARD. Mr John Coyle, secretary to the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, has been appointed secretarysuperintendent to the Newcastle Hospital Board, and will be leaving to take up his new appointment early in the New Year. The matter will he brought unofficially before the meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board to-day, as Mr Coyle has not yet tendered his ;e----signation, but this will probably bo laid before the board at a special meeting a week to-day. Mr Coyle is a native of New Zealand, and has resided in Wellington for 37 years. In his early years he was engaged in clerical work in the head office of the Post and Telegraph Department, after which he became county clerk at Pohangiua, Manawatu. He was then appointed secretary to the Wellington Hospital Board, and has been chief administrative officer for 171 years. He has a very sound knowledge of hospital administration, for tho affairs of the Wellington Hospital Board are of considerable dimensions. He is a member of the Wellington Savage Club and Wellington Rotary Club.
